Session 325 - Fuel line protection from exhaust
Been a long while since my post. Been busy training for the London Triathlon, also work. Truth is not a lot left and this work completes the car 100%. I just need to check the speedo is accurate now. I have completed the IVA application forms just need to dig out some of the recepts required with the application.
I got a local fabrication company to make up some heat shields in 2mm thick ali to cover the section of my fuel lines that are exposed to heat from the exhaust.
Photo showing the Front bulkhead heat shield installed. I had covered the fuel lines with heat reflective tubing but since installing the rubber P-clips to hold the fuel line to the top chassis rail I had to cut this short. I have installed convulted tubing over the remaing fuel hose.
Photo showing the heat shielding covering the fuel lines under the floor. In the foreground you can see the exhaust down-pipe to cat flange. The exhaust looks closer than it actually is this photo. To be honest I think the sheild is a little over the top because it shows the IVA inspector that I have considered this.
